I have always had an interest in photography but truly fell in love when my first son was born.  He was just a few months old and my husband gave me my first "real" camera (a Canon Rebel) for my birthday.  From the first click of that camera, I was determined to beautifully capture the lives of my children.  I read just about every blog/website/article I could find and taught myself how to operate, shoot, compose and edit.  It became an obsession.

Fast-forward 4 years, 3 kids and 2 more cameras (I now shoot with a Canon 5D Mark iii), I had finally gained confidence in my skills and had friends asking me to take pictures of their kids.  In late 2014, I finally decided to take the leap from hobbyist to professional.  I look back on my journey and cringe at the first few images I took (and thought were AMAZING) with my Rebel and even wince at my first few sessions after I turned "pro".  I'm not ashamed of where I started.  I am SO proud of how far I have come.  I look at photography as a skill I will never master but one where I will continue to grow, reflect and change.

Photography is my journey.  It challenges me, fulfills me and sets me free.
